This dynamic way of working is far beyond what I presented last year. New evidence research just published in 2024, along with processes derived from it, are the future of coaching, therapy, and hypnotherapy. 

STP processes work below the level of mental activity.   They impact the experience of the sensations leading to the mental and emotional associations that freeze and prolong our experience of unwanted emotions, habits and beliefs.

Working below the level of mental processing allows for space for the reframing and re-consolidation of mental processing automatically!  It’s all because we are gliding on the natural tendencies of the nervous system which have been mapped scientifically.  Curious?

Traditional NLP and other approaches purport to  “permanently,” “eliminate” or “clear” issues.  This is a mistake and frankly a lie to our clients.  Why? Because it’s an “all or none” proposition.  Life is anything but “all or none.”  We can never cover every situation when the client may be triggered in the future.

So, what is the solution? The good news is there is one!  The key is to change the client’s relationship to their own sensations and reactions which are a result of a multitude of external triggers that may vary from context to context.  This creates resilience.  The idea here is you don’t have to fight the feelings or eliminate them.  There are better ways.

How can you do this?  You’ll learn a number of easy, valuable ways to do this.  Again, evidence-based.

These processes can easily be taught to clients – or yourself! – and can be used in everyday Life.  As you probably know, while many NLP and hypnotic techniques are very effective in a coaching/therapy context, they are too complex to be used in everyday life in the heat of the moment.  These processes are literally “ no-brainers” and can easily be done in the heat of the moment.

Coming to Your Senses: 

Access Alignment – Content-free unconscious activation of sensory systems to allow new data in to change habits.  This is another way to re-structure mental processing which had been associated with unwanted states and habits with or without using the other STP processes.   You’ll see some dramatic effects of this demonstrated in real time.

Conversational Attention-shifting to Expand Senses and the Experience of Now.  This is a simple, effective, double-bind induction which can create an outside uptime trance or a downtime trance, depending on what is needed in the session.  It anchors the client in Now and a bit more!

Both of these approaches apply neuroscience research which is opening the door to a new way to effect change:  activation of the sensory cortices to modulate and update the Default Mode Network, aka, the House of Habit.

Overdurfian Post Hypnotic Suggestion Protocol, aka “The Barnburner”

This is a five-step nested process to prime action in your clients, set-up spontaneous revivification of the alpha sequence throughout the day, plant seeds for a new way of being, as well as amnesia to eliminate over-thinking – which is often a part of many issues.  While you’ll see and hear how this is integrated into STP, this can actually be a “stand alone” intervention, hence the name, “The Barnburner.” : )  This protocol is demonstrated multiple times so you’ll experience it’s versatility and flexibility.
